we are a Tkaronto based arts hub that connects art lovers with the natural world by experimenting with performance, print, music, and visual art. Through our work, we hope to find new ways to bring our community together to celebrate artists and the work they create.

our work has garnered four dora nominations and one win. we were also listed among the top theatre in toronto in both 2024 and 2025 for our productions of ‘samca’ and ‘red’ by broadwayworld.

brendan kinnon (he/they)

founder, company member

Brendan is a queer, non-binary theatre performer, producer, and director who is inspired every day by the beauty of the natural world. They are the founder of Riot King and have produced a variety of projects across the country including new-Canadian plays, audio dramas, short films, and festivals! Their work at Riot King has supported artists in receiving four Dora Mavor Moore nominations in design and performance. As a director, Brendan is passionate about multidisciplinary storytelling - going beyond the words to share a story with an audience. They are passionate about community and utilize the theatre space to bring people from different communities together in the celebration of art. They have worked as a producer with the Paprika Festival and Theatre of the Beat.

Selected performance credits include: Ken in Red (Riot King), Paul in The Guy Who Didn’t Like Musicals (Playhouse Collective), and Cowfeet McHooves in Clowns Reading Shakespeare (Panoply Collective). They are a physical storyteller and connect with each role through the body. Brendan is a trained singer (bari-tenor), can play piano, and is excited to start training in dance! When not on stage or sending emails you can find Brendan working away in their garden or strolling around the many wonderful parks of Toronto!

lindsey middleton (she/Her)

company member

Lindsey Middleton is a Canadian Screen Award nominee and Dora Award winner.

She is the co-creator, co-writer, and star of Cows Come Home, a heartfelt comedy created with Katie Uhlmann, that premiered on Bell Fibe TV1 on June 11, 2025. (Go watch it!!)

She has toured theatre across Canada and Europe and performed in over 50 productions. 
Lindsey co-produced and played Vanessa on the internationally award-winning web series, Out With Dad, where she won two Indie Series Awards for Best Supporting Actress and an IAWTV Award for Best Female Performance in a Drama.

As a writer, Lindsey is one of the co-creators of the Roku Channel show Just Hysterics, a collective of female-forward comedy sketches. She co-wrote Unmute and I Love You and It Hurts for Theatre of the Beat, and her first play, Session, premiered at the Paprika Festival. Lindsey was part of the TIFF Series Accelerator Program for Cows Come Home and is also writing her first novel about her travels to over 30 countries before turning 30. 

Lindsey produced and directed Best Kept Secret, the 400-person immersive event that marked the grand opening of the Anndore Hotel in downtown Toronto, as well as Suite Experiencea large-scale, immersive, theatrical event for the Hilton Hotel. Lindsey is the owner of Belleview Creative INC., a film and live events production company.

katherine cappellacci (she/her)

company member

Katherine Cappellacci is an actor, singer, producer, and writer based in Toronto and Montreal. As a performer, her work spans musical theatre, large-scale historical epics, TYA, devised and collaborative creation, puppetry, physical theatre, and award-winning comedies and drama. She has performed for a wide range of theatre companies across Ontario including Young People’s Theatre, 4th Line Theatre, Carousel Players, Tweed & Company Theatre, Globus Theatre, and Grandview Theatre. Most notably, she's been a part of many new iterations of Canadian stories and community-rooted performances - which is really the type of theatre she loves to make. She has also been acting professionally for film, radio, and TV since she was a teenager and holds a BFA in Performance Acting from Toronto Metropolitan University.

As a creator, Katherine is known for her versatility and collaborative spirit. Her artistic practice is guided by a heaping dose of curiosity and a deep belief in theatre's ability to connect communities. Recently, Katherine served as an Artistic Intern at Theatre Gargantua for the second cycle of their production, Dissonant Species. She also worked as an associate producer for the 2026 Bell Fibe TV series, I’m Also Herethrough which she also received writing mentorship under showrunner Naomi Snieckus and worked as a story editor for an episode. 

Katherine also writes, directs, and produces her own work, including the short clown show, DAY 55 (Toronto Fringe), A Moment in the (Secret) Garden (Musical Stage Co.’s Musical Moments), and When I See You (EmerGENce Theatre). Hideout Co.

Simply put, our hideout is a place for audiences and artists to come in from the cold. Say the password, have some soup, and share some tales. We are two queer theatre creators with the shared appreciation of magic, mythology, spectacle, and the goal of never forgetting the importance of play. Hideout Co. was founded by Madeline Kennedy and Gabbi Kosmidis in 2023.

Spindle Collective is a multidisciplinary horror-theatre collective of female and non-binary artists founded by actor and writer Natalia Bushnik. Framing contemporary fears into the structure of dark folklore, they combine original music, dance, digital design, and visual art to construct immersive, unnerving theatrical experiences. Their first work, ‘SAMCA’, won First Place at the 2022 Hamilton Fringe New Play Contest, placed in the Top Ten Finalists for the 2021 Wildfire National Playwriting Competition, and will be presented site-specifically at the 2023 In The Soil Festival in St. Catherines this June.

kathleen welch

Kathleen is a writer, composer, and theatre creator from Toronto. She is passionate about new works and loves creating projects with people she cares about. Kathleen is a member of Spindle Collective where she co-wrote and composed the music for ‘SAMCA’. She is also the co-creator of the ‘Dark Crop Festival’, an all-night camping performance festival. Some favourite plays she has directed are ‘The Anger in Ernest and Ernestine’ and ‘12 Angry Juror’s and favourite past roles include Catherine in ‘Widow's Wedding Dress’, Mrs. Forthright in ‘False Claims’, and Clara in ‘Fermata’. She is currently in the early stages of creating her newest play, ‘Bluebeard's Wives’.

Tipping Hand Media is an impact production company founded by Damon McLean, a creative content creator(video and photo). The company is co-led by Bracken Burns, an accomplished impact producer and director. Together, they specialize in supporting large-scale media projects, including full-length documentaries featured on CBC’s documentary channel, theatre productions, and TV shows like “People Watching” on CBC Gem. Tipping Hand Media also produces grassroots feature films including a feature documentary “Continue Playing?” , focusing on impactful storytelling that resonates with diverse audiences and fosters meaningful connections.
